Community’s “Alternative History of the German Invasion” Invites Reflection

Maybe it just isn't about you anymore.

Maybe it just isn’t about you anymore.

We’ve all sensed that Community is missing a piece of itself, and it is true that most people aren’t really able to put what’s missing into words. The Onion A.V. Club argued that Community is just getting older like any sitcom, and needs to rehash older ideas and rely on rebuilt jokes as new content becomes slim. This is a valid point, but one that misses an important detail: Community’s history of conceptual acuity. Continue reading

Top Gear UK Proves Anyone Can Like Cars, Even if they Don’t

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, and James May

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and mysterious driver The Stig

Surprises come in strange packages. Sometimes you think it isn’t worth watching a show based on the subject. After all, most people wouldn’t watch a show about something they’re not interested in. But history has showed, time and time again, that the more people broaden their horizons, the more they find happy surprises. A perfect example is the BBC juggernaut Top Gear.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Snatch Game!

What the crap is this?

What the crap is this?

There is nothing I love more than well dressed queens in shit tons of makeup causing drama and being fierce. Fiona, borrowed from here

Fiona, borrowed from here

Poor people are what make America great. Poor people are the best schemers, toughest fighters, and craziest drunks in the country; nay, the world. There is no show that capitalizes on the hilarious antics of poor people like Shameless.  The Gallaghers are like the MacGyvers of poverty, only instead of turning paperclips and gum into small arms, they turn crappy situations into extremely funny crappy situations.
